International Training Courses for Clinical and Healthcare Professionals and Students

INTERNATIONAL TRAINING COURSES

INMED is pleased to announce two intensive training courses designed with you in mind! The 2011 International Medicine Intensive Course is a two-week course in June designed for healthcare professionals and healthcare profession students in the clinical fields. The 2011 International Public Health Intensive Course is a one-week course in June for healthcare professionals and students who are interested in public health.

1). June 6-17, 2011 - International Medicine Intensive Course At the University of Missouri at Kansas City - Volker Campus

Register before January 1 to save up to $60!

This June, INMED is offering a low-cost International Medicine Intensive Course. This two-week Course will bring together 25 experts to equip healthcare professionals and students for serving in developing nations. The two-week course is designed to give healthcare professionals and students the academic fundamentals of the field. Participants who successfully complete the course of study and who pass the final examination will receive the INMED International Medicine Academic Certificate.

The course will address:
  • Determinants of health for developing nations
  • Diseases of poverty
  • Cross-cultural competence in health care
  • Health leadership
  • Personal skills for international living
Learning Objectives
At the completion of the INMED International Medicine Intensive Course, students and healthcare professionals in the context of a low-resource community will be able to:
  • Assess community health status based on the leading determinants of health
  • Prevent, diagnose and treat the leading diseases of poverty
  • Assure that health interventions are culturally appropriate
  • Design effective health interventions as part of a health leadership team
  • Successfully adapt one's lifestyle to a new cultural context
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in relevant clinical skills
Enrollment Qualifications
The Course is open to health care professionals and health care profession students in the clinical fields including physicians, dentists, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, resident physicians, and students of medicine, dentistry, advanced practice nursing, physician assistants, and pharmacy. Participants are strongly counseled to attend the entire course to optimize its benefit.
